Yamaha Motorcycles
The growth of Yamaha bikes is just one that happened quite by accident. In 1953 the company was already developing a variety of different products. Instead, they were looking for a usage for idle parts of gear that had once been used to make propellers for planes. The ideas for this particular gear included sewing machines, auto parts, scooters, all-terrain vehicles, and bicycles. The choice was made to concentrate on manufacturing bikes due to the industry demand for them. This bicycle featured a 2 stroke single cylinder engine. By July of 1955, Yamaha was producing 200 quality bikes each month with a staff of 274 people. This gave Yamaha the invitation to start selling its bikes in the United States with a private trader in California.
